I've finally decided to start doing Audiodrama Sunday (ignore the fact that today is Monday). Since I didn't keep track all week, this week's is just going to be what I can remember off the top of my head, probably missing some.

@camlannpod my lack of knowledge of Arthuriana continues to make me very confused, but not decreased my enjoyment of this show. Had to google what the sash was, and GWAINE DID YOU TAKE IT?

Mission Rejected released the first episode of season 5, and it was a doozy. Part 1 of the first ever 2 part episode of the show, and so much happened. Skip villain arc, a supervillain running an alpaca farm, Mcgrath and Athena content, and Chet Phillips playing Uno with a mob boss.

@spoutlore-blog also released the first episode of their new season. In a truly bizarre coincidence, both it and Mission Rejected released season pilot episodes, on the same day, set mostly on an alpaca farm, featuring a high-stakes uno game. Also some really good character moments.

@lostterminal in my ongoing efforts to catch up with this podcast I listened to season 12 this week. Nice to see a return to the status quo after the very weird season 11. Listened to the first episode of season 13 and really curious to see where it's going. A bunch of AIs having the same prophetic dream?

@kingmakerpod finished season 1. I am very endeared to these characters, and I love the weird worldbuilding. The commitment to the "and they were roommates" bit is very funny.

Skyjacks: Couriers Call I started listening to this week. Not many actual plays grab me, but this one did with its charming PCs. The trio of charisma-intelligence-strength is aways a great character dynamic.

Well thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Next week I should have a more complete list.

In my head, you’re a Magnus Archives blog. I mean, I know you obviously listen to other things, but In my mind it’s things like Welcome to Nightvale, Malevolent, Hello from the Hallowoods, The Sheridan Tapes, things like that, horror and supernatural.

So I had to do a double-take when I saw a Dungeons and Daddies post from you, I really didn’t know you listened to it. Then I see you reblog a Fawx and Stallion post, and now I’m just wondering how many podcasts you’ve listened to that I’ve also listened to.

Hahaha yes this blog has been mainly for tma stuff for years now, I still feel like I'm new to the fandom but honestly I've been here through a lot of it since the beginning of season 5

Buuuuut in the past few months I've stopped going into the tma tag regularly and been feeling a little detached from it, at least as opposed to before. My listen to tmagp has been way less interactive and I hardly reblog content anymore (which is something I like doing but because of various bad experiences on the internet recently I have yet to recover from I feel safer posting my own original posts rather than reblogging)

And that freed up a space in my mind to realize I've actually been listening to a lot of podcasts besides tma and it's honestly a shame not to talk about them more with others

I do listen to a lot of horror fantasy supernatural and science fiction podcasts! I also love a lot of dnd and ttrpg podcasts, I also love everything dropout and wish I could get into critical role but it's so big I don't think I'll manage it

Hi there! I just wanted to say thank you for being unbiased and consistent in your ruling of the Gable v. Nicky poll (but also just in general). I admit that it pains me a bit to see that some people are so upset over the tie, especially since it gives BOTH characters a better shot in the long run. I for one think a (fallen) angel and a demon (who is also a saint) moving on together is sexy as fuck, personally.

I also think it's a shame that some people are trying to make this a competition about who is queerer, particularly without any knowledge of why Nicky is so universally considered to be heavily queer-coded in the first place. It's frankly also just kind of mean considering how many queer people have really resonated with him because of this? This, in addition to the fact that is discourages transparency in poll propaganda. This is a non-scripted podcast! Not everything is going to be handed to you "on paper"! All that said, if you're looking for 100% explicitly-stated diversity to celebrate, Nicky is canonically asian and canonically disabled!

Anyways, to the rest of the Skyjacks fandom, the dndads fandom looks forward to fighting alongside you! 💖

I mean I definitely have a bias, I just try to keep that on my personal blog. Another reason why I can't take a hard stance against voter fraud is because I try to write propaganda that sways people to vote in a certain direction and while that may not be fraud, it certainly isn't completely fair.

Not about that poll in particular, but in response to something I saw a few times in Round 2: I think when people use "heavily headcanoned to be [identity]" and "popular fanon is [identity]" as propaganda it does open them up to critique about it, especially in a medium like podcasts without network/publishing censors. Especially when the opponent is canonically in-text that identity. As I've said before, it's fine for people to have negative reactions to all of this, as long as they don't personally attack each other.

I also like the idea of an angel and a demon teaming up. 0>:)

This is wild, considering pretty much all of the art on the blog is for Skyjacks, but I feel like I do need to be upfront to everyone who follows me from the fandom. I do not expect I will be making any more Skyjacks fanart. It's unfortunately been a slow but consistent decline in interest re: the main show (couriers call is still my beloved) for a variety of reasons I won't get into.

I don't know what art I will be making in the future.

Perhaps another podcast will come along. Or I'll really deep dive into danmei. Or it will just be original art. Either way, I totally understand if folks who came looking for Skyjacks decide to unfollow!

Actually while I'm still a bird blog (literally just for today) here's some other birds I'm fond of/think would be GREAT in Skyjacks:

Willie Wagtail (Rhipidura leucophrys)

Tiny, adjustable eyebrows, fan tail, fantastically acrobatic fliers. Two kinds of noises: angry shouting and beautiful singing. Diet is primarily insects but they have been known to eat carrion of far larger animals. Not afraid of humans. Made mostly of audacity: will often attack much larger birds including magpies, ravens and occasionally even osprey (sea eagles) or wedge-tailed eagles.

Currawong (Strepera sp.)

Three species of absolute clown disguised as dapper goths. Very clever and capable of bastardry: wild populations have been documented unzipping bags to get at the contents. All round omnivore. Social. Soup dragon noises.

Rainbow bee-eater (Merops ornatus)

Rainbow, eats bees (and other insects, but especially bees). Migratory, can fly far distances for a little bird. Makes and then nests in underground burrows. Very social. Makes delightful prrt noises and exhibits some very cute huddling behaviour.

Red-tailed black cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banksii)

Large, loud and social. Shy with humans but not absent from urban and suburban areas. Dangerous if you happen to be a delicious seed pod, or item that looks fun to chew on. Capable of high flying, rarely comes down to the ground (mostly hangs out in trees). A herald of coming rains, according to old farmer's tales. Brains. Incredible aesthetic really.

Splendid fairywren (Malurus splendens)

This tiny man is in fact more blue in person, (juvenile and female individuals being brown with a splash of blue on the tail). He flirts by offering flower petals and fancy flying. He's also a good dad. Always moving, fast takeoff and strong flight (but only in short bursts). Like all adorable round birds, very territorial.

New Holland honeyeater (Phylidonyris novaehollandiae)

Small, social bird with dignified sideburns who subsists primarily off of sugar (with a side of insects and arachnids). Mobile, talkative, and known to gang up on larger birds, such as wattlebirds (below). Nimble fliers, but tend to navigate a flowering bush from the inside. Looks like an electric type pokémon.

Superb fruit dove (Ptilinopus superbus)

Medium-small pigeon with an absolutely unrealistic colour palette (yet impressively camouflaged). Indeed superb. Also a dove that eats fruit. Not great at building nests. Migratory or nomadic but sneaky about it: possibly at night, as they (unfortunately) occasionally collide with lighthouses.

Pacific baza (Aviceda subcristata)

Looks as though a wizard has turned a cuckoo into a bird of prey in a futile attempt to teach it the meaning of hard work. In fact a medium sized, crested hawk. An omnivore: hunts everything from insects to reptiles to smaller birds, but also actively eats fruit. Rumoured to be able to mimic frog-calls, which coaxes the frogs to respond in turn. Pretty chill and, like many other hawks, social. Documented aerial somersaulter. Also not the greatest at nest building.

Red wattlebird (Anthochaera carunculata)

Not the prettiest, but interesting to watch. Large honeyeater and one of the few birds I am convinced has retained awareness of being a dinosaur. Loud about it, either with a gutteral cluck or lovely singing. Glides as much as flies, though they are perfectly capable of it. A decent climber, nimble. Will throw it's weight around with both smaller and larger birds. Unclear if it entirely understands it's place in the food chain.

Southern boobook (Ninox boobook)

A small, compact, cute and otherwise plain owl, but with very striking eyeliner. Does well in suburban areas. Named for the distinct noise it makes, though is (as most owls are) a totally silent flier. Feeds mostly on insects and small mammals but is also capable of catching bats.
